How to take care of your pieces?

 Shelf life

Shelf life

The terminology itself of “shelf life” simply means the amount of time the product or piece would stay up until it’s no longer fit for use. Moreover, all our pieces are meant to stay with you and passed on from one generation to another. However, as they are delicate and made of very sensitive materials, they need to be properly stored, in a cool area with as little as possible sun as too much exposure could damage certain types of materials.

How to take care of your pieces?

Material How to wash How to store
leather Dry clean Preferably hung in a breathable bag, in the least light exposed room
Silk Dry clean Preferably hung in a cotton breathable bag in a least light exposed room.
Mixed fabrics Dry clean Preferably hung in a least light light exposed room to ensure that the piece will not get deformed throughout its shelf life.
Denim Cold wash / preferably dry clean Preferably hung in half lengthwise to keep the Denim pieces from scrunching . However, jeans pieces are the most flexible, it can be folded as well yet the state of light exposure of the room should stay the same as it is for all the pieces
Velvet Dry clean / cold wash Preferably hung or folded in the least light exposed room. It is even better to turn the piece inside out of it has a side with a different material. Moreover, it is advised to brush it every once in a while (1-2 times a month ) to ensure a better maintenance of the pieces.
Wool Dry clean Hung or folded in cotton breathable bags in the least light exposed room. Moreover, wool needs to be brushed out or inspected every once in a while to make sure that the moisture of the space did not affect it, as well as the material did not rip apart due to bugs or insects. Therefore, moth repellant would be great and the use of natural repellants would be better such as lavender bags.

P.S: For all garments, we advise to toss in a moisture absorber within the same shelf/cupboard they will be placed in. In addition, all the pieces should be in a dark , cold room to avoid any damage such as sun impairment, discoloration or even insects around the area. Lastly, the room should have a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
